Denis Valentinovich Manturov made the remark in a meeting with Iran’s ICT Minister Mahmoud Vaezi in Moscow on Thursday, adding “there are many fields for cooperation between Iran and Russia, particularly in energy, oil and gas, industries and agriculture.”
He referred to the signing of an MoU with Iran during his visit to the Islamic Republic in December of 2015, adding “given our discussions and evaluations, 700 projects have been defined in drawing up a roadmap for industrial cooperation with Iran. The draft of the roadmap has been recently presented to Iran for evaluation and we are awaiting their response.”
Manturov further expressed Russia’s interest in joint production of freight wagons with Iran, as well as cooperation in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals, adding “since the beginning of this year, 18 projects with implementation priorities have been agreed upon during negotiations between the two countries’ officials.”
For his part, Iran’s ICT Minister who is chairing Iran-Russia's Joint Economic Commission's meeting, maintained that further consideration was needed for highly productive industrial projects with an aim to develop the level of cooperation between the two countries.
He also deemed beneficial the definition of 700 projects for cooperation within the framework of a roadmap for developing industrial cooperation between the two countries and determining 18 high priority projects among them.
During his three-day stay in Moscow, Vaezi held talks with Veronika Nikishina, Member of the Board Minister in charge of Trade, Eurasian Economic Commission, and Minister of Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation Nikolai Nikiforov. Vaezi also met with Energy Minister Alexander Novak and the Russian Chairman of Iran-Russia’s Joint Economic Commission for Economic to confer on ways to further expand bilateral relations.
